Many youth from deprived areas learn to rely on their cunning and strength. Often they will learn that they can't rely on anyone, and that the easiest way to get things is to ignore the law. As they grow many will find that there is no hope for their future with educaton and job prospects being limited. These youth become adults and pass on their disapointments to their children, creating another generation with the same values.

Hope for the Future helps to break this cycle by working with children and youth from an early age to instill in them a set of christian values by teaching and example. This has the effect of breaking the cycle at the begining of their life and so gives them a more positive outlook on life. The young people are encouraged to explore christianity for themselves and helped to make a commitment to God when they are ready. They are also shown that there are people they can rely on, such as the Hope for the Future team and the mentors they are introduced to.

Educational trips are arranged to give them a break from the inner city and help them to learn in an environment that excites them. Trips arranged have included visits to Washington to learn about history and politics as well as christian teaching weekends at Hope House.

Hope for the Future aims to provide mentors for youth, to help them see a positive future by building a christian faith and helping them to make personal goals and work towards them in achievable steps.

The final product is a young person with hope for their future and often a relationship with God. What better result could there be for the youth of today?
