Facilities
Due to the size and facilities available, Hope House is ideal for accomodating large groups whilst working as volunteers at
the warehouse in Farmingdale (40 minutes drive away). The facilities have been created to meet the needs of large
groups who are working hard. The beds have high grade mattresses, as a person who is tired from a late night in Manhattan
working with the homeless needs to sleep well. There are 4 bathrooms with showers to make it easy to get ready in the
morning when everyone is preparing to leave at the same time.
Leisure
When you have been working hard, you need to relax and Hope House has leisure opportunities that some top hotels
would love.
- Swimming pool in back yard (summer only)
- Gas barbecue in back yard
- Large rear projection television with many cable channels and video recorder
- Range of restaurants and take away food facilities within walking distance or a short drive
- Go karts and baseball driving range within 5 minutes drive
- Ronkonkoma station for trains to Manhattan within 15 minutes drive
Food
For those with a love for food, volunteers can take back to the house many of the items kept at the warehouse
at no additional cost. The kitchen is large and supplied with good quality facilities, however
remember that the Hope for the Future chef will usually supply meals during the day for volunteers and teams
working at the warehouse.
