Prov 22:9
A generous man will himself be blessed, for he shares his food with the poor.

Hope for the Future is a ministry that requires resources, not exactly a shock, but where do those resources come from? Although a lot of the food is donated by businesses, much of it is also purchased. For donated food there is still the cost of the vans and gas for them. When food is cooked there is gas and electricity for the ovens and cookers. Even a blanket has to be of an approved design before it can be given away, adding to the expense. To get an idea of the costs of running the ministry look at some of the expenses shown below.
| Ingredients for 1 hot meal (fresh meat and vegetables) | $3 | |
| 1 blanket for a homeless person | $10 | |
| Gas for 1 van for 1 journey to the city | $50 | |
| Supply 2 pantry bags for 1 senior for 1 week | $35 | |
| Feed a family of 5 for 1 week | $100 | |
| Gas and electricity for warehouse and kitchen for one week | $315 |
The resources come from people who partner with the ministry financially. A single gift is appreciated but a regular gift allows the ministry to make plans for the future as they know that a guaranteed amount of money will be available. Gifts can be sent as checks or by credit card (1 off or regular giving) on line.
